The man at the gate was a mexican. This is important because Kino is a mexican, and the doctor is very racist against Kino because of his race. It doesn't seem to matter that his gate person is mexican because he is working for the doctor. After the man at the gate shut the gate on Kino, Kino punched the gate. He did this because he was very angry that the doctor wouldn't help his son. Kino offered the doctor a pearl but he didn't accept it. It was a reaction, not everyone can controll how they react. When Kino punched the gate it showed how badly he wanted his son to be medicated for his scorpian bite and he only hurt himself by punching the gate.

Average day after school.

"Hey mom, how was your day?"
"Hey Steph, my day was good thanks, how was your day at school?"
"School was okay."
"What did u do today?"
"Nothing just sat in my desk. Same old same old. What about you?"
"Oh you know just stay home a clean the house. Do you have any homework?"
"Oh yes! Lots."
"When do you plan on doing it?"
"I think I'm going to go get started now. Call me when supper is ready."
"Okay. I will. Talk to you later. Call me if you need help."
"Okay. Sounds good. Bye."

Metaphors

Johnny wanted a new computer, so he went to Logans Audio Video the next day to get one. When he arrived there was a big waiting line in the computer section. Johnny was very disappointed! He gott so fed up and stormed out. On the way out he said too people coming in that the service was slower than mollases. Johnny never went too Logan's ever again.

Relationships

There are many different kinds of relationships people can have. A relationship that is important to me is friendship. Friendship is important to me because friends help me through the day and when i don't feel like talking to my family I talk to my friends, they understand me. Another important relationship that is important to me is family relationships. Being close with my family helps me grow as a person and I learn the most important skills from all the members in my family. Without relationships people would be lonely and have no one to talk to so we wouldn't be very happy. Frienships and family relationships are the most important types of relationships to me.

1. Why don’t any of the people who find Andy help him?
The couple who found Andy don't want to help him because he is a Royal and they didn't want to get involved incase the Gaurdians found out who helped him, the old lady never seen him laying in he alley, and the drunk man thought he was just fooling around.

2. Why did Andy join a gang? Explain Andy’s reasons and whether or not they make sense to you.
Andy joined a gang because he had no family. That kind of does make sense to me because if he had no family the gang would become his family and then he wouldn't be alone.

3. Why does Andy take off his jacket?
Andy took his jacket off because when he died he didn't want people to say," Oh, it's just a Royal."

4. What conclusions can you draw from the police officer’s comment at the end of the story?
The police officer's comment at the end of the story meant that it's just another gang member killed in a rumble. It's something a person would expect if they seen someone from a gang member laying on the street dead.

Take Your Kid To Work Day

For Take Your Kid To Work Day I went to my old school St. Vital. In the morning i taught french with Mr. Cawood to the grade 1's and also with Ms. Merkowsky to grade's 6,7 and 8. In the afternoon I was in the shop with Mr. Tkatchuk helping Lawrence students with their wood projects. It was rather interesting watching how hard it is to teach children especially when they don't want to be there. I don't know if being a teacher would be something I'd like for a career, but it was a fun day. I was not the only student that came back to the school for the day, some of my friends that used to go there with me came back too. The teachers were glad to see us back since we haven't seen them since the end of last year. Overall I think Take Your Kid To Work Day is a good idea, it teaches students what it's like to have a real job for a whole day and it is a fun activity to do for a day.
